Maryanne B. Rainone, Senior Vice President/Managing Director
“While Albert Einstein said the definition of insanity is ‘doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results,’ I like to think that our firm helps clients avoid that by approaching things differently with much better results.”

Maryanne achieves the best results for clients in corporate communications, media relations, investor relations, speechwriting and public affairs executive searches for blue-chip companies, many of which are in the Fortune 100. Her industry areas of expertise include financial and professional services, technology, entertainment and media and conglomerates.
With an eye toward doing things in the most optimal way, Maryanne not only handles searches but also acts as chief operating officer for Heyman Associates. In that role, she handles new business development, staff oversight and overall research and technology initiatives. In addition, she regularly develops competitive studies and analyses for clients.
As a leader in the field, Maryanne has both national and international communications and HR contacts at corporations, agencies, academic institutions and associations. She is a regular speaker with industry and membership groups and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Maryanne has been quoted in the trade and general press and broadcast media on such topics as relocation, negotiation and job search strategies and was featured in “201 Great Ideas for Your Small Business,” by Jane Applegate. She also acts as editor for the firm’s e-newsletter, Positioning.
Before joining Heyman Associates, Maryanne served 11 years with what was then Chase Manhattan Bank, where she managed large teams in customer service and loan servicing. Earlier, Maryanne worked in public relations at United Cerebral Palsy.
“I’ve been doing this a long time, but it never gets old. Recruiting is a series of steps – each search has a beginning, middle and end. It is the firm’s management of those steps and the relationships that develop between recruiter and client and then with candidates and client that make each project unique. My career was formed in a very corporate environment, more in operations, and that helped me develop a work discipline that has stayed with me. Details matter.”
Maryanne is a summa cum laude graduate of the New York Institute of Technology, with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. She also holds an MBA from Adelphi University. As an active member in a number of community and volunteer concerns, Maryanne is a native of Long Island who enjoys as much time as possible in the summer on their boat “Ciao Bella” with her husband and two daughters. When she’s not reading her four newspapers a day as a news junkie, she loves to cook and entertain.
