Jessamyn Katz, Vice President

With her intellectual curiosity and passion for getting to know people, Jessamyn handles a variety of searches in numerous specialties, including digital communications, media relations and strategic communications. She also works with clients across a range of industries such as aerospace, healthcare, manufacturing and energy. In her experience, she has developed an expertise in the academic, foundation and non-profit sectors to further position the firm in these areas.
As a comfortable world traveler who has lived in Europe, Jessamyn spearheads Heyman’s international efforts as she handles global assignments in collaboration with Taylor Bennett, our partner firm in London, and others around the world. She also works with our clients on the West Coast and reinforces the firm’s presence in the region.
Jessamyn got her first taste of public relations from internships at PR agencies Abernathy MacGregor and Burson-Marsteller early in her career. “My agency experiences were an invaluable introduction to communications. They taught me how to identify good communications, appreciate what it can do for a business and recognize a talented communicator. They also made me realize that I wanted to work with and be around communications people.”
Jessamyn is a cum laude graduate of Bucknell University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education. Having lived in Texas, Switzerland, and California, Jessamyn brings diverse perspective to her work and life. Her German and Spanish language skills have become rusty mainly because her papillon Olivia doesn’t make a very good foreign language practice partner.
